Many Airlines and Shipping Lines provide online tracking of
the cargo being handled by them then why does a Forwarder need
to provide additional Tracking facility to his customers. There
are many reasons for that of which a few are :-
- In order to check the
status one has to know the AWB Number or the B/L Number. (House Numbers
won't work).
- The liners can provide
the status only for the period the cargo is with them but a cargo has to
undergo many formalities at the port too.
- If an consignor has
more then one consignment, he will have to visit the sites of all liners
individually and check the status on each one of them.
- No
system of auto e-mail alerts / Reports etc.
has addressed each of these problems and have provided a comprehensive
solution which will enable a forwarder to provide a state of the art cargo
